The check engine light is a notification that something related to the engine and its various sensors is not functioning as intended. It is not an indication of a failure of a part or that something in the vehicle requires extensive and expensive repairs. If your vehicle is not behaving differently such as it not running smoothly or if the power of the engine has suddenly become low try restarting the engine to check if the warning lamp returns and stays steady. If it does not come back on again continue to use your automobile as you usually do, but do keep an eye out for it. If it does turn on again call for a service appointment so the necessary checks can be performed to find the cause and if any repairs may need to follow.
